Pastor Meghan grew up just around the corner in the City of Tonawanda and has been a part of a church her whole life. She studied music and ministry in Rochester, NY for her undergrad graduating in 2013, did 6.5 years of youth and young adult ministry, then finally answered God's call to pastoral ministry in 2020 where she studied at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. After graduating from seminary in 2022 she began a six-month internship at St. Martin and Abiding Savior and in December of 2022 we officially called her to be our pastor. Pastor Meghan brings with her not only years of experience but having had that experience in various sizes, styles, and denominations of church. From small and traditional, to large and contemporary, ELCA Lutheran, United Methodist, Non-denominational, and Free Methodist. Through it all she has always felt most at home in the ELCA with their genuine care and openness to the humanity of which we are a part.
Pastor Meghan brings a youthful and energetic passion to the church and her ministry, but she is more than just her ministry. Outside of ministry she loves spending time with her husband, Jake, their daughter, Ashley, their cat Gwen, and friends and family doing anything from playing her many instruments (primarily cello), Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, watching all kinds of movies (not horror or thriller, thank you), reading, and just about anything crafty and creative she can get her hands into, especially crochet.
A church would fall apart without a good church secretary to keep things going. Wendy has been faithfully serving in this role for over 20 years. Whether it's ensuring the acolytes, readers, greeters, and ushers are scheduled or putting together the bulletin, sending it out and uploading it onto the Facebook page, Wendy gets it done with impressive efficiency every time.
When Wendy is not in the office she is enjoying time with her husband, Keith, her son, daughter-in-law, and two adorable granddaughters. Wendy also spends her time playing the many woodwinds instruments of which she is fluent, and enjoys time spent traveling whenever she gets the chance.
What's a worship service without music? Quiet, and Lutheran's are not known for being quiet. Which is why we love and are so grateful for the gift of music Julien has been bring to the church for so long. Julien graces us with the organ and piano weekly, and from September to May she also directs our incredibly talented choir.
Jim has been leading the charge with our council since earlier 2025. He and his family have not only enjoyed worshiping at St. Martin for many, many years, but have also been heavily involved in various areas of its operating. Jim has also passionately lead/taught Ukranian Egg decorating every year at Easter for several years, now.
As a newly retired science teacher, Jim has had more time to travel with his lovely wife, Jennifer, and dive deeper into his love of woodworking.
Michele has been joyfully leading our Sunday School for a number of years now and is still as passionate as ever. No matter how old you are Michele will welcome you to Sunday School with open arms and a smile. She works hard to ensure her team of teachers feel supported, encouraged, and are supplied with whatever they may need. Michele pours her heart and soul into every week, which then extends to Vacation Bible School during the summer, which she also directs. She is forever thinking about ways to have the kids of our church engage with and support the community around them, as well as create a sense of community within Sunday School itself.
Michele enjoys being a member of the church choir and reading lessons during worship, but when she's not in church and, if the weather is good, Michele will likely be at the golf course showing off her skills. She also enjoys traveling as often as possible with her husband, Jeff, and her son and daughter, whenever they are free in their busy college schedules. Wherever she may go, you can bet her positivity, joy and love of life will be coming with her.
